lights off

"..happy birthday happy birthdaaaay, haaappy birthday to yooouuuu..!." (blows the candle off then claps) -- the song kids sang, back in the old days, especially us probinsyanos, when the lights return after a blackout.

I love blackouts, particularly at night ( i wouldn't be enjoying it unless it's this seldom, otherwise it can be pretty interrupting.) People conversing face to face, joking about fun experiences, telling scary stories, little boys scaring little girls, playing silly games, or just plain enjoying the still of the silence, these are a few reasons why. Routine modern life gets stripped-naked and is made uncomplicated even for a short while.

wanna join? come waste your time with me. ;)

no pokerface

Yes, she's dressed in "kumot" or what we call blanket, and yes, she's playing cards. For the blanket, she was wearing this long before i got into her house. Flashback: I remember how my cousins and I used to get all the newly-washed blankets from our lola inang's cabinet to make ooh la la gowns for our so-called fantasy pageants when we used to be kiddos.

I thought i'd be seeing her play with dolls, i thought wrong, tsk. For a short while, we played unggoy-ungguyan, (i don't know how to play poker.boo--well there's always a first time). Letting her win makes me laugh (secretly in my mind). :p
